For the months of November and December we are not doing a contest. Pelsue Orthodontics is  a drop off site this year.  We will be doing a toy drive for Toys for Tots. Toys for Tots was started in 1947 by Major Bill Hendricks, USMCR. The first toy collected was a homemade doll, and 5,000 toys were collected for the first Toys for Tots Campaign. The next year it became the U. S. Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots Program. Last year Toys for Tots had distributed nearly 16.8 million toys to more than 7 million children! Over its life span, the Marine Toys for Tots Program has distributed over 469 million toys to over 216 million less fortunate children.

The primary goal for Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

The objective of Toys for Tots is to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

Feel free to drop off a new, unwrapped gift at our office until December 9th to help a child in need.
